Chronoswiss Unveils Lunar Chronograph Aurora and Space Timer Gravity: Two Cosmic Timepieces

Instructions

Chronoswiss has recently launched two captivating timepieces, the Lunar Chronograph Aurora and the Space Timer Gravity, both intricately designed with a profound appreciation for our solar system's closest celestial body, the Moon. These creations, while united by their lunar muse, manifest their cosmic inspiration through distinct horological expressions, showcasing the brand's innovative approach to design and craftsmanship.

The Lunar Chronograph Aurora, priced at CHF 9,800, represents a contemporary reinterpretation of a classic. Its dial, a striking blend of deep green and vibrant blue through a CVD coating, masterfully evokes the ethereal beauty of the aurora borealis. This model features a well-balanced arrangement of complications, including a chronograph with central seconds, a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour totalizer, and a moonphase indicator at 3 o'clock. The date is elegantly displayed via a central analog hand along the dial's periphery. Encased in a polished 41 x 15mm stainless steel structure with Chronoswiss's signature onion crown and screwed lugs, it is complemented by a sophisticated gray nubuck strap. Powering this piece is an automatic ETA 7750-derived C.755 movement, visible through a sapphire case back, boasting exquisite finishing details like a skeletonized, rhodium-plated rotor with Côtes de Genève and perlage on bridges and plates.

In contrast, the Space Timer Gravity, a limited edition of 50 pieces priced at CHF 21,300, offers a more avant-garde vision of the cosmos. Its dynamic dial, partially hand-guilloché with a color-shifting CVD coating from deep green to oceanic blue, creates an illusion of a planet suspended in orbit. A detailed laser-engraved lunar topography, based on NASA photography, adorns the left side of the dial. Transparent hour and date rings made from ITR2 composite hover above this lunar landscape, revealing the intricate gear train beneath, which is highlighted by a baby-blue bridge matching the sweeping seconds hand. This design ingeniously integrates the automatic caliber C.308, an extensively modified ETA 2895, as an integral part of the cosmic narrative, emphasizing the omnipresence of gravity. The 44 x 15.2mm brushed stainless steel case is paired with a moon-gray nubuck leather strap, further enhancing its celestial theme.

These new releases from Chronoswiss exemplify the brand's dedication to merging traditional watchmaking artistry with innovative design concepts. By drawing inspiration from the celestial realm, Chronoswiss not only creates time-telling instruments but also wearable art that encourages contemplation of the universe and our place within it. These watches serve as a reminder of the endless possibilities when creativity meets precision, inviting enthusiasts to carry a piece of the cosmos on their wrist and to appreciate the intricate dance of time and gravity in a profound new way.
