Heritage Auctions Debuts Fine Jewelry and Timepieces Sale in Hong Kong

Instructions

Heritage Auctions is making a strategic entry into the vibrant Asian luxury market with its first-ever integrated Fine Jewelry & Timepieces Signature Auction in Hong Kong. Scheduled for June 15, this event follows a public preview on June 14, presenting a curated selection of exquisite jewels and horological masterpieces. The auction house aims to capture the attention of discerning collectors and enthusiasts in the region, offering a diverse array of items that highlight rarity, craftsmanship, and intrinsic value.

Among the featured jewelry items, a platinum ring from Repossi commands attention with a reserve price of $90,000. This piece is distinguished by a 3.11 carat untreated Colombian emerald, an octagonal gem renowned for its lack of clarity enhancement—a highly desirable characteristic in the emerald market. The emerald is elegantly framed by 2.7 carats of diamonds in various cuts, including full-cut and pear-shape, further enhancing its allure.

Another highlight is a substantial 4.72 carat untreated Colombian emerald, presented in a platinum ring with two baguette diamonds accentuating the vibrant green center stone. Jill Burgum, Heritage's executive director of fine jewelry, emphasized the exceptional rarity of untreated Colombian emeralds, underscoring the stone's natural beauty and the geological marvel behind its color. This piece is expected to draw considerable interest due to its unique natural properties.

The auction also shines a spotlight on a necklace adorned with 14.33 carats of padparadscha sapphires. Each of the ten sapphires is framed by diamonds, showcasing the distinct orangey-pink hue that defines this incredibly rare sapphire variety. This color is a result of a specific combination of chromium and iron, found in only a few geological deposits globally, making padparadscha sapphires highly sought after.

Additional significant jewelry offerings include a 10.50 carat Burma sapphire ring, encircled by approximately 1.45 carats of diamonds. For diamond connoisseurs, an unmounted 3.01 carat fancy vivid yellow diamond carries a reserve of $70,000, promising intense bidding. Furthermore, a platinum diamond ring featuring a 4.05 carat square-shape center stone, complemented by nearly 3 carats of triangular and baguette-cut diamonds, has a reserve of $50,000.

In the timepiece category, the leading lot is a platinum Rolex Day-Date reference 228396TBR, distinguished by an ice blue dial and a diamond-set bezel, with an asking price of $62,500. Other notable watches up for auction include a De Bethune Reserve de Marche reference DB25 crafted in 18k rose gold, and an 18k yellow gold Harry Winston grand perpetual calendar, both representing the pinnacle of horological artistry and luxury.

The inaugural Fine Jewelry & Timepieces Signature Auction in Hong Kong represents a pivotal moment for Heritage Auctions as it deepens its engagement with the Asian market. The meticulously curated collection of rare untreated gemstones and high-end watches underscores the auction house's commitment to offering exceptional pieces that appeal to a sophisticated international clientele. This event promises to be a landmark occasion, further solidifying Hong Kong's status as a global hub for luxury goods and collectible treasures.
